Rob Burrow charity racehorse retrained as therapy animal (Video: SWNS)

Burrow Seven, named after Rob's iconic squad number for Leeds Rhinos, was forced to retire in November due to a leg injury.  He has since been moved to New Beginnings stables in York, which rehomes and retrains former racehorses and was visited by the Burrow family on Sunday.  Video: SWNS

00:04 I first met Rob when he was a teenager when he came into the First Team squad.

00:09 Well, I've done a number of projects with Phil Hawthorne

00:12 and we started to discuss the possibility of linking his two passions up.

00:17 Rugby league, he's a big Wigan rugby league fan, and horse racing.

00:22 Burrow 7 as a horse is a beauty, he's a real cracker, he was nibbling away at my shoulder.

00:27 He looks beautiful, he's a really pleasant horse, loves a stroke.

00:30 Well, Rob and his family have been overwhelmed with the support that they've got for their family,

00:35 but I think it's wider than Rob and his family.

00:38 MND needs support, MND, the disease, needs awareness for people.

00:45 It will hopefully get MND and MNDA, who we are linked with,

00:51 the right amount of light shone upon their crusade and their mission.

00:56 My grandad loved horses and used to enjoy the flood.

00:59 If he knew I had a Thorpe Red Raif horse named after me, he would be thrilled.

01:03 I met Burrow 7 last week, he was a great horse, very big and handsome.
