00:00 Rising K-pop group, Cravity, recently charmed their Filipino fans in their masterpiece world tour at the New Frontier Theatre in Quezon City.
00:07 This comes ahead of their upcoming mini-album, Sunseeker, which will be out this week.
00:12 I got to speak with the group before the album release and they told me what sets them apart from other K-pop boy bands in the industry.
00:21 I think it's because we're all so unique. As individuals, we're all really unique and we bring different charms to the table.
00:34 I think when all nine of us come together as one, it makes it so much more colorful and more interesting for our audiences to watch.
00:46 I truly believe that's what sets us apart from other K-pop groups.
00:51 All of you seem quite unique. You have a wonderful sense of humor as well and confidence that goes with it.
00:59 You were just in Manila, New Frontier Theatre, sold out. I saw some of the videos and the shots. You were surrounded by your fans.
01:09 What was it like for you for your first ever world tour and then of course your first time to ever visit us here in the Philippines? What was that like for you?
01:18 [Speaking in Korean]
01:46 Sungmin said during the Manila show, our Filipino lovelies surprised Sungmin with a birthday cake because it was his birthday on August 1st.
01:59 He thought despite the setlist being so intense, he received great energy from that little act from our fans.
02:20 What was the one song or maybe the few songs that your Filipino fans absolutely went wild over?
02:28 Either it's not our songs, but they really loved us dancing "Gento" by SB19.
02:36 Their chant for "Gento" was louder than our songs.
02:46 It just makes for a really wonderful collaboration. I'm sure your fans appreciate the fact that you appreciate Filipino music as well.
02:56 From your world tour, your masterpiece world tour, now you are out with a new mini album, "Sunseekers".
03:06 Tell me a little bit about this album. How long did it take you to come up with the songs for this album?
03:14 [Speaking in Korean]
03:42 [Speaking in Korean]
03:48 All the recordings and some kind of things, I think it was three weeks.
03:54 It was pretty rushed.
03:58 It seems like you guys have a lot of albums and you keep releasing a lot of these albums.
04:05 You're on your sixth or seventh mini album?
04:09 Sixth mini album, yeah.
04:12 Plus your debut album. Who wrote most of the songs?
04:18 Are you now starting to write your own songs and take control of your music?
04:25 What do you say?
04:27 Woobin wrote most of our songs.
04:29 He's the one that wrote, including this one, he wrote three songs in total.
04:39 And then Serim and I have been participating in writing the lyrics for a couple of our songs as well.
04:47 But yeah, other members such as Wonjin, we're slowly starting to participate more and more in writing our songs.
04:55 How has your songs, from your first album, which was way back in 2020, during the pandemic and whatnot, to now 2023, "Sunseekers", "Evolution",
05:09 have you found your song, your vibe, your genre, that you absolutely love and feel so comfortable with?
05:17 I think we really get more comfortable while recording.
05:20 And many members really, I think Wonjin really finds his voice.
05:27 Yeah, I think our entire sound, just generally, is more of the bright, pop, upbeat sort of genre.
05:41 And it really suits our members' visuals and it also suits our voices.
05:48 And in the way we perform on stage as well.
05:52 So definitely with this new mini album, our fans can really look forward to seeing everything, all the sides that they love to us.
06:04 Do you have a particular song from "Sunseekers" that you are so excited for your fans to hear or even so excited to perform on stage?
06:14 I think it's "Vibration".
06:23 Oh, "Vibration".
06:25 "Vibration".
06:26 Okay, yeah.
06:27 Why?
06:28 Because I wrote that song.
06:31 Say it, Kim!
06:33 Wonjin wrote that song.
06:34 Yeah.
06:35 Just look for it. "Vibration".
06:38 What is "Vibration" about?
06:41 As humans, we set goals and we have dreams and aspirations.
06:45 And so when we take measures to get closer to our dreams and aspirations, we feel this little vibration inside.
06:56 That we know we're on the right path.
06:59 And as the vibration gets...
07:04 Gets stronger.
07:05 Gets stronger.
07:06 Like we're getting closer to our goals and dreams.
07:09 Why "Sunseekers"?
07:11 What is the meaning behind "Sunseekers"?
07:14 In our previous album, we asked our audience, "Oh, what is your gravity?
07:21 What makes you attracted?
07:23 Like what attracts you?
07:25 What makes you do what you want to do?"
07:29 And so in this, we asked our fans, "What is your gravity?"
07:34 And so in this album, "Sunseeker", the sun has a huge gravitational pull.
07:40 And so we're telling our audience to follow your gravity.
07:45 To seek what attracts you.
07:47 What makes you want to do what you want to do.
07:51 And so we, as CRAVITY, we want to help our fans to seek their sun.
07:57 Seek their gravity.
07:58 Last message to your Filipino fans.
08:00 What can they expect from CRAVITY?
08:03 CRAVITY, any collaborations?
08:04 Oh, hold on before I let you go.
08:06 Any collaborations that you would like to do maybe with Filipino artists?
08:13 You have done, you have done actually Japanese songs.
08:17 You have done English songs.
08:21 So what's next for you and collaborations there?
08:24 SB19.
08:27 In the Philippines?
08:28 Yeah, we would love to.
08:30 We love hip-hop.
08:31 Ah.
08:32 Yes.
08:33 I think Ben&Ben would be pretty cool.
08:37 They're like a vocal band.
08:40 I like a few other songs.
08:42 They have really nice music.
08:44 Oh, wonderful, wonderful.
08:46 Okay, so going back to "Sunseekers", let's talk about your focus track.
08:52 "Cheese", as I understand, is one of them.
08:55 Yeah, this track is our pre-release single.
08:58 It is a bit-pop R&B song that expresses our idea of a fun and special day in a vibrant and energetic mood.
09:09 We are definitely ready here in the Philippines.
09:11 We do hope to have you back here.
09:13 Any plans of visiting us in the Philippines?
09:17 Yes.
09:18 Yes.
09:19 All right.
09:20 What, what?
09:21 Well, we do hope to have you back here.
09:23 Thank you so much, CRAVITY, for speaking with us here.
09:27 Thank you so much, Christine, for having us on Sienna Philippines.
09:30 It was a pleasure.
09:31 And we hope to see you again in the Philippines.

09:36 Bye.
