00:49 Hello from the headquarters of TeleSuri English in Havana, Cuba.
00:53 This is From the South.
00:54 I'm your anchor Gladys Quesada, and these are the news.
00:58 The Cuban government has confirmed the discovery of a new top-quality oil well in the province
01:03 of Matanzas.
01:04 The state-owned company Unión Cuba Petróleo said that the exploration of the Almera 2
01:10 well, located in Block 9, was undertaken by the Australian company Melbana Energy.
01:16 They have confirmed that the new well has the capacity to produce up to 1,100 barrels
01:22 of oil per day.
01:24 The head of the exploration crew said that the crude oil found is lighter, thus contains
01:29 less sulfur than the kind found in the wells of the Havana-Matanzas Strip.
01:35 Cuba uses 44 percent of its domestic crude oil and 8 percent of its accompanying gas
01:40 to generate domestic energy.
01:48 Guatemalans take to the streets again on Monday for the third consecutive day in rejection
01:52 of what they have described as a coup d'état.
01:55 Thousands have marched since Saturday throughout the national territory against what they call
02:00 the corrupt pact.
02:02 This Monday, as in previous days, they will also demand the resignation of the prosecutor
02:06 Consuelo Borras and the special prosecutor Rafael Currucuchiche, who are accused of orchestrating
02:13 a coup d'état.
02:14 Monday's demonstrations coincide with the beginning of the handing over process of the
02:18 outgoing President Alejandro Giammattei that will be supervised by the Organization of
02:24 American States and the Department of State.
02:27 Also several organizations call to mobilize in the name of democracy.
02:37 The political and institutional crisis affecting Guatemala also reached the legislative branch.
02:43 As a result, the Congressional Board will analyze the reestablishment of the Zemilla
02:47 Party.
02:48 Previously, the Congress disowned the members of the Zemilla movement and declared them
02:52 as an independent branch, limiting their functions.
02:55 The Board's decision was based on a notification from the Attorney General's Office.
03:00 On Sunday, a few hours before President Alejandro Giammattei begins the transition process under
03:06 the observation of the Organization of American States and the Department of State of the
03:11 United States, informed that they will proceed to make consultations on the suspension.
03:17 Meanwhile, the advances of the parliamentary directive have been dismissed by the President-elect.
03:28 In Honduras, a special commission will investigate former prosecutors of the public ministry,
03:34 as ordered by Luis Redondo, the President of the National Congress.
03:38 The Congressperson informed on Sunday that the special commission will have the power
03:41 to immediately investigate the former heads of the public ministry and their participation
03:47 by action or omission in the structures of organized crime.
03:51 Likewise, the commission will also review possible links with acts of public or private
03:55 corruption and the management of non-governmental organizations used by political parties to
04:02 capture funds or launder assets from drug trafficking and terrorism.
04:12 The Government of Colombia and the General Staff of the FARC dissidents concluded on
04:17 Sunday a preliminary meeting to reach a ceasefire agreement.
04:21 The two delegations meeting for three days in the Department of Cauca agreed to set up
04:25 a dialogue table.
04:26 The details will be confirmed next September 17 in a new meeting.
04:31 Andrea Vendagno, the political chief of the guerrilla group, confirmed to the Colombian
04:35 media that they have invited Juvenal Ovidio Ricardo Palmera, better known as Simón Trinidad,
04:42 to be part of the table.
04:44 For his part, the government's chief negotiator, Camilo González, explained the tasks that
04:49 were accomplished in the meeting.
04:56 In Brazil, a collision between trucks on Saturday in the state of Paraná left at least seven
05:01 people dead and several injured.
05:03 According to the state authorities, the accident was due to the collision of several trucks
05:07 that ran over several private vehicles on a highway in the district of São Luís do
05:12 Peruna, located in Balzanova, a municipality in the metropolitan region of Curitiba.
05:18 Authorities also detailed that the accident may have occurred due to weather conditions
05:23 in the area, where it was raining and there was heavy fog.
05:32 On Monday, the Government of Colombia and the National Liberation Army (ELN) closed
05:36 the fourth cycle of peace talks in Caracas, Venezuela, as they are seeking a negotiated
05:41 solution to the internal conflict.
05:44 This phase of the dialogue began on August 14, under the premise that civil society's
05:48 participation in the process is paramount and the transformation also is key for peace
05:54 and the national agreement.
05:56 Among the most important agreements of this process is the creation of the National Participation
06:00 Committee, installed on August 3, and the six-month bilateral ceasefire in Colombia,
06:06 which came into effect on the same day.
06:09 As for the bilateral, national and temporary ceasefire, it implies implementing the monitoring
06:14 and verification mechanism to prevent incidents, solve problems, reduce the intensity of the
06:19 conflict and improve the humanitarian situation of the population.
06:23 While the economic war against Venezuela harmed many households, this new scenario
06:52 made retired chemistry teacher Rosa rethink her possibilities and her talents.
06:58 She took academia knowledge and her crafting skills and turned her apartment into a laboratory,
07:03 a factory and family enterprise venue.
07:06 At the same time, and today, her cleaning products compete in local markets.
07:11 Let's know more about her story, thanks to the following material by our colleagues Adriana
07:15 Siori and Marcos da Silva.
07:22 Enjoy.
07:35 Among so many buildings, Rosa guides us to her property.
07:40 In a 72 square meters apartment, she installed a handicraft factory with all the corresponding
07:46 permits.
07:47 In 2016, with the economic war, there were so many queues to get flour, butter, milk,
07:57 all those things.
08:01 It was horrible.
08:02 So I told my husband at that time, let's produce cleaning products because we are getting
08:08 hit.
08:09 They started with just personal hygiene products.
08:14 In seven years, they established a whole workshop.
08:17 Together with her niece, they prepared the orders.
08:20 The accuracy in the combination of ingredients is the key to a perfect elaboration.
08:26 The coconut oil for toilet soap.
08:29 Angie already knew the business, but joined her aunt's enterprise.
08:37 As the demand for the product increased, she needed more help, more hands on deck.
08:44 So here I am to support her in packaging part and soap production.
08:52 We share the tasks, we collaborate well.
08:57 And we are not fearful of the problems that may arise.
09:00 We always look for a way to turn things around and keep on going.
09:06 The pandemic opened a new world.
09:09 They collaborated with the community, they taught, they sterilized environments.
09:13 Chlorine and disinfectants were in those years and still are some of their star products.
09:22 I am chemistry teacher, so this is easy for me to elaborate all the things.
09:30 And knowledge is not for oneself.
09:32 You have to share it with everyone you can.
09:37 Because knowledge has to be transmitted.
09:40 We, Venezuelans, in spite of our weaknesses and difficulties, we always grow.
09:48 And Ulimar's trademark seems to keep on growing.
09:52 The brand of the cleaning artisan can be found in every nearby store.
10:01 And you can find more episodes of our series Venezuela on the Move in YouTube and other
10:06 platforms.

12:02 this visit.
12:04 They are waiting to see what will come out from there today regarding the grain corridor.
12:10 I believe that the message to be given to the world with a press conference after our
12:15 meeting will be very important, especially a step towards the underdeveloped African
12:21 countries."
