Yorkshire crime: Police seize cannabis from home on Doncaster estate after heat source picked up in flyover

A cannabis cultivation growing in the upstairs of a property on a Doncaster estate has been seized and destroyed after officers executed a warrant at an address in Toll Bar.

After a police flyover picked up a heat source from a house in Manor Estate, officers attended an address in the street earlier yesterday morning (Thursday 31 August) and discovered cannabis plants growing in an upstairs bedroom.

A 36-year-old man was interviewed and cautioned at the scene by officers who swiftly removed the plants from the house ready for destruction.

00:06 This week has seen a busy week for us in Doncaster where we've executed a number of warrants
00:11 in relation to drugs and firearm concerns and that's resulted in a number of arrests
00:16 and a number of quantity of drugs etc. being recovered. But we've also been working in
00:22 the background on lots of other what we'd term maybe daily business where we're seeing
00:25 a number of people arrested across various crime types whether it's our outstanding most
00:30 prolific neighbour of crime suspects, people who burgle, shoplift. We've had success this
00:35 week in arresting a number of those people. And at the other end of the spectrum we've
00:39 seen a number of cases come to court with sentences being handed down for various offences
00:47 ranging from sexual offences as well as other matters as well. So for us that has been a
00:53 positive week but for us this just represents kind of a normal week in Doncaster and as
00:58 we move forward we hope to be able to share with you more of the positive stories that
01:01 we generally and the good results that we deliver here in Doncaster on a regular basis.
