The funeral of Uriah Rennie took place on July 14, 2025, in Sheffield.

‘Uri,’ as he was known, became the Premier League’s first black referee.

He really was a man of steel from the Wybourn area of Sheffield, after moving from Jamaica as a child.

Uri died earlier last month aged 65 following a private battle with illness.
