00:00 I'm 31 years old, I just quit my job, sold my house in Chicago, bought an RV and I'm traveling.
00:04 And currently I've been sitting at a beach for the seventh day in a row. And I thought to myself,
00:09 I wonder, this is probably what retired people feel like. People out there celebrating their
00:13 retirement and dying of cancer a year later. You want me to motherf*cking work for 40 to
00:20 50 years of my life so I can die 14 years. No thank you, American Dream. F*ck that bullsh*t.
00:25 This video by Matthew Ulk has drawn the attention of over 8 million viewers.
00:30 Matt goes on to explain why exactly he has left his job, sold his home and bought an RV.
00:36 I started thinking a little more and I was like, well what's the average life expectancy of
00:41 somebody in the United States of America? And it was 77 years old. So I did a little mathy math and
00:48 I was like, so I'm expected to retire at 63. Let's just go with the average, right?
00:54 And die 14 years later. You want me to work for 18 to 63? No thank you, American Dream.
01:04 Skeptics are calling Matt delusional, saying he won't have enough money for essentials at
01:08 retirement. I will figure it out. Right? I love you. And this is like, I'm not,
01:14 this isn't like a reply video of me ripping somebody apart. I will figure it out. That's
01:19 all I need to know. And that's all I know right now. I love myself enough to know that I will
01:24 figure out a way to sustain this way of living. His supporters applaud his courage, suggesting
01:30 he is broken free from the system, that he has escaped the matrix. We're just like cattle. You
01:35 know, when you retire cattle, it gets old. So I mean, the sooner you die, the less social security
01:41 they got to pay out on you. I don't need to work in order to get money. A lot of people in society
01:46 have tied those two things together, where it's like, I have to go do something that I hate
01:50 regardless in order to make money. No, there's a billion ways to make money. I'll figure it out a
01:53 different way. In the meantime, he has a link to his Venmo in his bio. He believes individuals can
01:59 shape their reality and gain control over their emotional and physical well being. I am free
02:04 mentally, regulated my nervous system, no longer have anxiety or depression, had asthma my whole
02:10 life gone. Seems impossible for the majority of people. So I'll take that because I am free and
02:16 not freedom in the way that we were sold. There are tons of van life and tiny house influencers,
02:22 and they live their life for many different reasons. But Matt's life change isn't just about
02:27 his home. It's about his view on life. You can breathe, you can walk, you can smell, you can
02:32 touch, you can taste your feet are touching the ground. What's the point of worrying? It's all an
02:35 illusion we're creating in our mind that's taking us away from being present in our current reality.
02:39 We're making decisions based on illusions we're creating in our mind. And you can let them go.
02:44 Matt says that people need to dismiss their fear driven choices and that real change demands action
02:50 in order for you to change your external reality, you have to change your internal reality first.
02:55 So if you want to stay stuck in a state of survival and keep thinking about those sort
02:58 of things like Oh, where's my money gonna go? Then fine, stay on that hamster wheel of suffering. I
03:03 choose not to. I chose to jump off. I chose to do the inner work I chose to strengthen my mind.
03:10 You got a lot of people out here with six packs huge biceps, but a weak mind. And I would much
03:16 rather have a strong mind and a skinny body. In the end, Matt's journey isn't just about
03:20 personal transformation. It's about inspiring others. As he says, my mission in life is to
03:26 watch you heal. You are more than you think. Thanks for watching. Surrender to it. Oh my god.
03:33 Wow. Oh, cheers to freedom. Love you. Like this video, follow us for more.
