00:00 The 27th edition of Exercise Malabar concluded on the east coast of Australia off Sydney

00:09 The exercise saw participation of ships, submarines and aircraft from the Indian Navy, Royal Australian
00:15 Navy, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and the US Navy.
00:20 Exercise Malabar was conducted in two phases, which included a harbour phase from 11 to
00:24 15 August and a sea phase from 16 to 21 August.
00:29 The Indian Navy was represented by indigenously built destroyer INS Kolkata, frigate INS Sahyadri
00:35 and P-8I maritime patrol aircraft.
00:38 Other participating units included RAN ships, HMS Shules and HMS Brisbane, USS Rafael Peralta,
00:45 JS Shiranui along with submarines, fighter aircraft, maritime patrol aircraft and ship-borne
00:51 helicopters.
00:52 While the ships sailed out for the sea phase from Sydney harbour, the air assets operated
00:56 from RAAF Amberley, Brisbane.
00:59 The sea phase of Exercise Malabar witnessed complex and high-intensity exercises in air,
01:04 surface and undersea domains, weapon firings and cross-deck helicopter operations.
01:09 The joint exercises at sea honed the warfighting skills and enhanced interoperability between
01:15 the four navies to undertake advanced maritime operations.
01:18 The seamless integration of air assets also showcased the exceptional coordination and
01:23 interoperability between the Indian, Australian and US maritime patrol aircraft units.
01:28 The exercise not only reaffirmed the ability of the four navies to operate together as
01:32 an integrated force but also highlighted their shared commitment to maritime security and
01:37 regional stability through collaborative training and mutual understanding.
01:41 At the culmination of five days of multifarious exercises, Exercise Malabar vividly showcased
01:46 the strong cooperation, shared values and the collective ability of the four participating
01:51 nations to ensure a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific, promoting peace and security
