00:00 Arguably the biggest game on the board is Philly's Giants when you consider that National
00:06 League wildcard race.
00:08 And Aronola has the ball here against the San Francisco Giants and that makes them a
00:12 better than -160 favorite on the FanDuel Sportsbook.
00:16 Aronola has been tricky this year, Donny.
00:20 Does he deserve any trust in this matchup?
00:24 You probably would trust the Phillies a lot more than the Giants, but the breakdown here
00:28 it's going to be quite interesting here.
00:30 Now we do have a warm muggy night in Philadelphia, Kevin.
00:32 Close to 90 degrees at first pitch.
00:34 Light wind blowing in from left field, which if anybody's been to a Citizens Bank ballpark
00:38 game there is a massive scoreboard in left field that blocks out a lot of that wind.
00:42 So we might have a pinball atmosphere tonight.
00:44 However, Scott Alexander is a lefty.
00:46 The one thing he doesn't do well, Kevin, is strike batters out.
00:49 But how about this?
00:50 48 batters he's faced over the past 30 days.
00:52 An 065 ISO and a 331 weighted on base percentage.
00:56 However, that Phillies lineup does extremely well against left-handed pitchers, which is
01:00 usually surprising.
01:02 Most major league baseball teams not really on their A game against lefties.
01:05 Take a look at Turner, Harper, Castellanos, Boehm, Riamuto, and Marsh all with above average
01:10 ISO power numbers.
01:11 If we flip it over to San Francisco and how they match up against Nola, here's the interesting
01:15 part.
01:16 Aronola is very good against right-handed batters, but he does struggle, Kevin, against
01:20 lefties.
01:21 If we take a look at the last 30 days, 59 batters he's faced on the left side, 309 ISO
01:25 and a 417 weighted on base percentage.
01:28 That's not going to get it done.
01:29 And if you line up against the San Francisco Giants lineup tonight, Wade, Meckler, Peterson,
01:34 Conforto, Bailey, and Camargo all will be lefties.
01:38 That's six left-handed batters out of nine in the lineup that we're anticipating.
01:42 That could give them issues.
01:43 Now, if you're just going to take a flyer that the Phillies offense eventually is going
01:46 to wake up and they finally did in the ninth inning last night in the little league classic,
01:50 I look for that to continue.
01:52 Muggy conditions in Philadelphia, even though it is a playoff type atmosphere, I'm probably
01:56 going to trust the batters in that mugginess and that smaller ballpark over the pitchers
02:00 themselves.
02:01 Did you like the Bryson Stott pencil bat is the big question.
02:06 Was it Stott or Bohm?
02:07 Was it Stott or Bohm had the pencil bat yesterday?
02:09 Because I didn't get the chance to see him swing it.
02:11 It was a really cool look.
02:13 You had Bryce Harper with the Philadelphia Finals bat.
02:17 Was it Stott?
02:18 It was Stott.
02:19 Why are you questioning me?
02:20 Now you're making me a second guess.
02:21 I think the Phillies put out a picture with Bohm next to the bat.
02:24 So I thought it might've been out bones, but no, I like that.
02:26 I think that's a pretty good look.
02:27 But by the way, it felt like those bats just looking at them would break upon contact though.
02:32 Here was my, here was my problem.
02:34 I don't mean to, I usually like fun things like this.
02:37 I don't think the Bryson Stott back can be allowed.
02:40 It's it was almost too well done.
02:42 It was confusing.
02:43 It literally looked like a gigantic pencil.
02:45 Like I think if I'm a pitcher, that's a disadvantage, but I don't think that should be allowed.
02:51 I like it, man.
02:52 Is that a sign that, by the way, does that, that I assume that has to get approved just
02:56 because it's one of those specialty games, because there's no, you want to talk about
03:00 like, cause athletes take it to the next level.
03:02 Like the NFL, like, Hey look, I don't understand.
03:04 Like Odell Beckham was putting like full presents, like the wrapped presents on his cleats back
03:09 in the day with the giants.
03:10 Like you can't do that in a game.
03:11 I mean, I don't care if it's Christmas, you can't have like a gift on your cleats here
03:15 as you run around.
03:16 I think what major league baseball players would do out there with some of the bats.
03:19 I mean, my goodness.
03:22 (upbeat music)
