00:00 It was a walk in the park for inmate Michael Cataroja when he got out of the maximum security compound of the New Bolivid prison.
00:08 He studied the movement of the visitors and then he noticed that there was a rubber stamp.
00:19 He put the rubber stamp on his arm.
00:27 He even looked for a person who has the same height and built and even copied his name.
00:32 When he saw it, he just showed it because there were a lot of people.
00:36 He just followed the visitors.
00:41 When he saw it, he just showed his rubber stamp.
00:45 After sneaking out of the Bolivid compound, Cataroja simply walked to Alabang until he reached EDSA.
00:52 He headed straight to Cainta and went into hiding.
00:55 It was July 15 when it was reported that a person deprived of liberty was missing in Bolivid.
01:02 Many thought he was killed and his body thrown into a septic tank.
01:06 But the Senate hearing revealed the bone extracted from the septic tank was actually from a chicken.
01:11 Bucor Chief Gregorio Catapang expressed belief Cataroja escaped,
01:16 something that the Senators refused to accept since the maximum security compound is tightly secured.
01:22 The police arrested Cataroja Thursday in Barangay San Isidro in Angono.
01:26 Authorities got a tip on his whereabouts and eventually confirmed it.
01:30 Initially, there was a little resistance but he didn't run away.
01:37 He confirmed that he is Michael Angelo Cataroja.
01:43 Catapang has already ordered a full-blown investigation
01:46 and made sure those behind the embarrassing incident will be held liable.
01:51 Cataroja is facing another complaint which could add more years to his jail time.
01:57 He was proven guilty of an additional 2-4 years in his 10-year sentence.
02:07 His convictions were against the Fencing Law.
02:11 Whatever the outcome of his complaint, and no matter how far he walked,
02:16 his destination remains the same - Bolivid.
