U.S. Forests On Track to Emit More Carbon than They Take In by 2070

: If trees are known for one thing it’s their ability to sequester carbon, taking CO2 out of the air and releasing oxygen in its place. However, now experts say, the US Department of Agriculture says that in just a few decades our nation’s forests will no longer be expunging carbon from the air, but producing it instead.
