00:00 David, do you remember the first time that Janice ever raised with you
00:04 the idea that the right thing to do was for you to help her to take her own life?
00:11 Do you remember how you felt when she first said that to you?
00:13 Yeah, she asked us about six weeks before it happened, like it was six or eight weeks.
00:20 And I said, "No, no." I just said, "Keep fighting."
00:27 I couldn't take my wife's life. And I said, "I can't. I don't want to hurt you."
00:34 And she says, "You can't hurt me anymore than the pain I've got now."
00:38 So she kept asking and asking, and I kept refusing. And I just said, "We've got to fight her."
00:44 And she says, "No, no." And the last two weeks, she pressured me. She was begging me.
00:51 So at one point, she got quite a circle. And I said, "Look, okay, I'll help you."
01:01 But I said, "I'll not tell you when, and I'll not tell you how."
01:06 But I really didn't want to do it. It was trying to pacify her. And it was about
01:13 nine days later when it happened, because I was hoping in that time she'd change her mind.
01:20 and she didn't.
