00:00 Well, this doctor is making more people consider chiropractic care because of his videos online
00:06 with hundreds of thousands of views. Tyler Biggenhoe tells us about this kind of treatment
00:12 and his company CleanSpine from Newport Beach, California. Tyler, great to have you with us.
00:18 You have many, many followers here in the Philippines. First of all, who inspired you
00:23 to be a chiropractor? Honestly, I went to a really good chiropractor growing up. I kind of idolized
00:30 him. He owned the gym that I used to work out at. And when it came down to deciding what I wanted
00:36 to do after I went to undergrad, I looked at it and I was like, "Hey, I kind of like that. I can
00:42 do that." And I kind of just went for it. It wasn't until my second year in school when I started
00:49 falling in love with it. And what problems do chiropractors solve? Well, I don't like to use
00:58 the word "solve," but just normal headaches, backaches, neck pain, car accident injuries,
01:08 all that type of stuff. Usually things to do with the spine. All right, things to do with the spine.
01:14 But before you start a session, Tyler, what do you find out first about your client?
01:21 So a big thing is any accidents, injuries, surgeries, headaches. We want to make sure that
01:32 what they're coming in with isn't something serious. And that's why we do the doctorate
01:38 program. That's why we go to school. You can't adjust somebody who might have cancer or have
01:44 a spinal infection or might have an aneurysm in their neck. If you don't ask the right questions,
01:50 you might miss it. And you could make something a little bit worse.
01:56 I've been watching many of your videos on social media, Tyler. That's why we have you now on the
02:03 show. And I hear a lot of cracking of the neck or popping of the back. Is this common in
02:11 chiropractic treatment? Yeah, I mean, if there's a lot of pops, if it's very clean,
02:20 if it feels good, that's a healthy spine right there. Basically, when people come in and they
02:27 don't really crack that much or when I do an adjustment, it kind of hurts a little bit.
02:32 That could mean that there's a little bit of arthritis starting to build up around those areas.
02:39 And that's not something that you want. Is this also an indication that our spines are misaligned?
02:44 And can you basically help align the neck or the back or problems with headaches or migraine
02:53 in just one session? So yeah, that's kind of what I do. I'm not going to get into the politics or
03:02 the philosophy of chiropractic. A lot of us practice and operate differently. I try to
03:09 get rid of everything in one go. And if the problem is something that I can help with,
03:18 if it's coming from your spine, your muscles, your joints, if maybe you're a little stressed
03:23 out, that's causing the headaches. If I do a good job, yeah, you're going to feel really good after
03:29 one session. I don't actually believe that being misaligned is an issue. I think we're all a little
03:42 off in our own unique ways. So I don't really treat based off of alignment. But if it's something
03:51 that I can help with, you're going to feel better. So do you only use your hands to examine,
03:57 treat problems or the bones, the muscles and the joints?
04:00 Yeah, pretty much. I like to tell people that I am a master at knowing what normal feels like
04:10 in your spine. So when I feel something that isn't normal, comparing that with what you tell me,
04:17 like, "Oh yeah, it hurts like right here. I'll feel it." Then it kind of jumps out at me and I
04:24 kind of, you know, I'll try to do what I can. If someone has a problem, a neck issue, a back issue,
04:30 would you advise them to see a chiropractor? Of course, of course. Obviously, you know,
04:39 there's some good chiropractors, some bad chiropractors. I would just definitely
04:47 ask for a referral from a friend and make sure that they have the proper licensing.
04:53 And you have amassed, Tyler, millions of followers on TikTok with videos of your
05:01 work and tips on pain relief. Has this really helped your practice?
05:05 Oh, of course. I mean, nowadays, you know, if somebody, you know, obviously, if someone's even
05:12 going to trust you with their spine, their neck, their pain, they're going to pay you money.
05:18 They're going to look you up online. Nowadays, you have to have a presence on social media or else,
05:24 you know, people, you know, that's the first background check. You know, they're going to
05:28 look you up on Instagram. They're going to look you up on TikTok. They want to go to somebody
05:33 that they can trust. That's all it is. Like, nowadays, we need to create that trust in our
05:39 brand. And there's no better way than to use social media. And do you have a long waiting
05:45 list? How many clients can you accommodate on a daily basis? And what is the waiting list? Is it
05:51 weeks and even months? Yeah, yeah, I'm booked out for like three weeks. But you know, I always make
05:58 exceptions. If you call in, you got to get in, you know, I can, I can always fit you in. And I'm a
06:03 little different. I actually treat people for the first time, it's 30 minutes and follow ups are 20
06:08 minutes. So I do have a limited amount of people that I can see per day. Just because I want to
06:14 give people like the most amount of time for the amount of money that they're spending. So if I do
06:21 come to the Philippines, it's going to be a little different. When are you coming to the Philippines?
06:25 Everyone's expecting you to be here soon. It didn't work out in 2023. But 2024 I'm going to
06:34 plan a trip, hopefully around March or April. All right, Tyler, when I go to Newport Beach in
06:40 California, I will look you up and I hope you can make space for me. Of course, of course, but we
06:46 got to get dinner too because I'm a big fan. Thank you so much. Clean Spine CEO, Tyler Biggenhoe.
