Delhi: Man Attacks With Iron Rod After Wedding Called Off | Malviya Nagar Police | Swati Maliwal

A shocking news coming in from Delhi, a 25-year-old college student was attacked with an iron rod in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar on Friday after she refused to accept the marriage proposal. The victim died on the spot. The incident happened near Malviya Nagar Park.

According to the police, the victim was beaten to death by her cousin after she refused to marry him. The police have arrested the 28-year old cousin in connection with the murder.

According to the statements by Delhi police, the accused wanted to marry the victim, but the victim’s family refused as he was not earning well and had a job of a delivery boy. The victim, following the refusal from her family side, stopped talking to the accused.

Further, the police informed the media that after the marriage refusal the accused was disturbed as the victim stopped taking his calls and would not talk to him.

The accused knew about the coaching classes which the victim used to attend in Malviya Nagar. The accused used to pass through the park regularly where she was murdered.

The accused had planned the murder three days in advance. On Friday, around 12pm, the accused reached the park, and when the victim refused to have a conversation with him, he attacked her with an iron rod.

The Delhi Police rushed to the spot after receiving the news. The police found a rod near the victim’s body.

The Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in a tweet stated that law and order have become serious issues in Delhi. He further requested the Home Minister and Lieutenant Governor to make Delhi Police little active.

The Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal, in a tweet stated that Delhi is extremely unsafe. Only the names of girls are changed in news reports, but the crimes do not stop.
