00:00 Danny Eastwood believes Uluru is sacred to all Australians, so his furious, his paintings
00:07 of the iconic landmark have been used in a disinformation campaign against the Voice
00:12 to Parliament.
00:13 I'd like to swear but I can't do that on television unfortunately.
00:16 It's a very low act.
00:18 ABC Investigations has discovered the altered image has been circulating on anti-voice communities
00:25 on social media for the past three months.
00:30 And they used Aboriginal dot painting to use the word 'no' to make it look like it was part of the painting.
00:36 I was very disappointed and shocked.
00:39 We've traced the image to two unauthorised and anonymous flyers.
00:43 One flyer being distributed around Melbourne makes false claims about the Voice,
00:48 including that Australians will have to pay taxes and levies to the body.
00:52 The second was made and distributed by Gold Coast activist Spencer Chalifour,
00:58 who defends his claims and refuses to accept its disinformation.
01:02 What are 20,000 of these bad boys?
01:04 He said he had no idea about the origins of Danny Eastwood's painting when he included it on the flyer.
01:10 I do see how that could upset him.
01:12 For that reason we have decided not to use that image anymore.
01:16 And we apologise to Mr Eastwood if it caused him any offence.
01:19 My name's Spence.
01:20 Spencer Chalifour spent last weekend volunteering for One Nation at the Fadden by-election,
01:26 but he's not a member and the party which opposes the Voice says it had no hand in the flyers.
01:33 He says he's been contacted by the Australian Electoral Commission,
01:37 not because of the content of his flyer, but because it's not properly authorised.
01:41 I've decided that we're going to authorise everything that we do in regards to this from now on,
01:45 because I don't want to be in breach of any regulations.
01:48 The AEC can't force campaigners to tell the truth,
01:52 but they're encouraging anyone trying to influence voters ahead of this year's referendum
01:56 to make sure their pamphlets, posters and ads are properly authorised.
