00:04 Scilla, once again, is the protagonist of the meetings organized by the Magna Grecia Foundation,
00:09 a gem of the land to be valued and promoted.
00:12 The focus of the two-day event, organized at the Ruffo Castle,
00:15 also this year, does not look at the future of the half-day, but at the future,
00:20 because there are many equally interesting.
00:23 Theme of the 2023 edition, a "South Green and Blue", resources, obstacles and opportunities.
00:28 And if we talk about opportunities, Nino Foti, president of the Foundation, has no doubt,
00:32 the bridge over the strait is fundamental.
00:34 Calampia will benefit, but above all Sicily,
00:38 which will receive a cost that will not have 4.5-5 billion per year.
00:46 So it is an initiative that Europe is waiting for us.
00:49 Europe agrees, so there is no reason to have any opposition to this work.
00:55 If ever it is built together, there is no greater opposition,
01:00 because the work is for the citizens, the citizens have no say.
01:03 In the north, investments are almost saturated.
01:05 To have more, they do the EXCO, to raise the level of the finance that intervenes in the territory.
01:15 We need primary things that are useful to everyone,
01:21 because if people cannot move for various reasons, it is as if it were a country divided in two.
01:27 The Economist, three years ago, wrote a paper on the first page, "Italy must be divided in two".
01:33 Italy must be divided in two, and no one is in favor of it,
01:36 unless there is some strategic plan, and we must support it.
01:40 We are here for this.
01:42 Alessandro Russo, editor-in-chief of C-Network,
01:45 has underlined the paradox of an increasingly marginal south,
01:48 despite the found centrality of the Mediterranean.
01:51 There is a paradox in action.
01:53 While economic and social processes are concentrating in the south of the Mediterranean,
01:59 the south of Italy remains marginal compared not only to the rest of the country, but also to the rest of Europe.
02:06 Obviously, we have a situation in the middle of a leopard's pen.
02:09 There is a more dynamic south, there is also a more positive south,
02:15 from the point of view of the production of ideas, of talent and so on.
02:20 But there is also a south that is starting, and we are dealing with that south.
02:25 Paola Bottero, strategic director of Publiem and Via Condotti 21,
02:29 has explained the importance of green and blue for the future of the south.
02:33 Green and blue, first of all, because there is a sea and a blue sky,
02:37 and there is a green that is all the infinite Apennines, which is an important resource,
02:42 but we are throwing it away.
02:44 We are throwing it away because the sea is polluted,
02:46 because the forests have their geological status,
02:49 and there are many problems, so it must become even more green,
02:53 and blue must become green too.
02:56 We must find eco-sustainable solutions,
02:59 so that these immense naturalistic resources that we have can become real values.
