Zelensky visits island symbol of defiance as war enters 500th day

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visits Snake Island in the Black Sea, where Ukrainian soldiers famously defied a Russian warship at the beginning of the invasion, as the conflict reaches its 500th day.

Although released on July 8 by Ukrainian Presidency, the date of the visit is unknown. Moscow captured Snake Island shortly after launching its invasion on February 24, 2022 and Ukrainian forces re-captured the island in June last year. (Video Courtesy of AFP)
