Tropical storm threat in Gulf of Mexico may affect Florida

There is a tropical* storm threat in the Gulf of Mexico. As if on cue a tropical depression is taking shape on the second day of hurricane season. No watches or warnings are posted but forecasters in Florida are watching the storm closely.
