  • last year
A five year old boy has died after being hit by a bus in Govanhill.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene on Calder Street but was pronounced dead soon after.

A nine year old girl was also injured and was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children where her condition is described as serious but stable.

Next up, a 21 year old man was taken to hospital following a stabbing at Braehead Shopping Centre.

Police Scotland confirmed that two men, aged 18 and 22, have been arrested and charged in connection with serious assault, and inquiries are ongoing.

The victim’s condition is currently unknown.

And in other news, Glasgow City Council is set to increase allotment rent rates by almost 400 percent next year.

From March 2024 the annual payment will rise from £34.50 to £170, which the authority has blamed on challenging financial circumstances and the need to make £50 million in savings.

Rates had been frozen since 2012.
