Birmingham headlines 2 November: Man jailed after throwing gun from window

Police continue their search for those involved in football disorder in April ahead of the match between Birmingham City & Milwall. Police are warning suspects that a repeat of the disorder will not be tolerated. The club have said they will be conducting an internal investigation.

A man has been jailed after he threw loaded guns from a window during a police raid. Dean Owen from Kingstanding threw a bag with two loaded revolvers from his upstairs window in May during the raid - where more weapons and ammunition were found. He was jailed for nine years.

A new McDonald's set to open in Selly Oak has been granted a 24 hour license - however police have expressed their concerns about the risk of crime. The branch will sit within the Selly Oak Shopping Park which police claim has become a crime hotspot since opening two years ago.
