The SeaRey is also distinct among aircraft for its extensive user support network. The public can access Splash & Dash Seaplane Delights, and the SeaRey Technical Site (STS)is strictly limited to owners. You can see STS operations film clips however on YouTube tagged as from "seareytech."
On a safety note: this type of flying poses many challenges. For example, the gear mismanagement rate, eg landing with the gear retracted on land; or worse, with the gear extended in the water, is 500% the landplane rate. Add to that the fact that the amphib pilot creates his/her landing & takeoff environment each time, the multiple threats stemming from the water and shoreline, and other factors, and you have a real safety challenge. But, like all things proper training, experience and rigid discipline saves the day, lays the groundwork for the most fun an aviator can have!
