Bernard Kahn, together with his father, Max Kahn, opened Camp HASC in 1972. This was the first camp for people with special needs. To assess whether or not this would be an appropriate place for every prospective camper, Bernard Kahn, HASC former director, traveled frequently to meet them in person. Bernard Kahn, HASC former director, took care of every individual with compassion and tenderness. This is what has made HASC a dream job to so many today. It wasn't always like that!
