My name is Michael Johnson with Film Compass, and this is my Discover New Zealand video - a film dedicated to the beautiful places in New Zealand. In this video you'll see the best locations like the Milford Sound, New Zealand's West Coast, Queenstown and the surrounding area known as Glenorchy, Coronet Peak and The Remarkables mountain range.

The stunning landscapes of New Zealand's South Island will awaken the backpacker in you and may even inspire you to take a South Island road trip. More specifically a road trip to Milford Sound from Queenstown is a must on your adventure!
While you’re exploring the south island of New Zealand be sure to not pass up a chance to see many of the beautiful tourist destinations like Queenstown. The town is situated along the banks of Lake Wakatipu with the gorgeous mountain range known as The Remarkables in the background. While in town be sure to take the old boat known as the TSS Earnslaw up the lake to see an amazing sheep farm called Walter Peak Farm.
You may notice in this cinematic travel film that many of the locations surrounding Queenstown were actually featured in Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring. One such place is Wilcox Green, Arrowtown - a small village just outside of Queenstown that featured the Gladdenfield scenes from LOTR.
Above all the activities in New Zealand - I recommend taking a Milford Sound cruise the most. You can’t get any closer to paradise than when you are on boat inside the Milford Sound. It's easily one of the South Island's best places to see. It’s majestic waterfalls and high cliffs will captivate you. As soon as you make it to the Milford Sound you’ll notice the Milford Sound Airport, Mitre Peak and Bowen Falls. If heaven was on earth it would be in the Milford Sound.
No matter your reason for coming to gorgeous New Zealand, you'll undoubtedly leave with a new appreciation for mother nature. I hope this New Zealand Cinematic travel film inspires you to hop up and take a plane ride as soon as possible.
