UK Drivers Panic

The British Transport Minister begged drivers to stop filling water bottles with gas on Tuesday after panic buying hit the island nation and left many pumps dry. The government even put the army on standby in case the situation gets worse. The post-Brexit economy is experiencing a severe shortage of lorry drivers, training and licensing. This shortage has led to supply chain problems that will cause prices to jump in the lead up to Christmas. Even after the Minister’s plea, military tanker drivers are at the ready if fuel deliveries are needed. The government also planned to issue temporary visas for up to 5000 foreign drivers to alleviate the shortage. Meanwhile, oil prices rose above $80 per barrel for the first time in 3 years on increasing demand.
