Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary recently took aim at Boeing ($BA@US) over high prices for new aircraft. “Europe’s low-cost carriers will drive demand for Airbus A320 family aircraft and not Boeing,” unless Boeing agrees to reduce its expenses. The two most popular airframes in the world are the Boeing 737 family and Airbus’ A320 family, with Boeing recently stating that low-cost carriers could drive industry growth. European carriers see it differently, potentially opting for a more affordable partner in France’s Airbus. Boeing stock traded higher in premarket activity while Ryanair ($RYAAY@Ireland) stock fell to start the day in response to the news.
