Katie Ledecky made history on Tuesday evenings when she took home gold in the first-ever women’s 1500 meter final. Earlier in the night, the American swimmer had her worst Olympic career performance, but she rebounded nicely in this victory. Fellow United States swimmer Erica Sullivan won silver in the inaugural event.
