Shivratri of Sawan month is today on Friday. Shivratri is of great importance in the month of Shravan. The worship of Lord Shiva done on this day gives special results. On this day Kavand also offers water to the innocent Shankar. The importance of this day is even more now because Sarvath Siddhi Yoga is being formed on this day. On this day, worshiping Lord Shiva with various substances fulfills the wishes of the devotees. Today Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga will start from 6.37 am in the morning till sunrise the next day. Adra Nakshatra will also remain during this period. In this, the consecration of Lord Shiva is considered very good. Therefore, on this day Bholeshankar is easily pleased. There is also a belief about the month of Sawan. It is said that in this month Lord Shiva, pleased with the penance of Goddess Parvati, granted her a boon to make her a wife. सावन माह की शिवरात्रि आज शुक्रवार को है। श्रावण मास में शिवरात्रि का बहुत महत्व है। इस दिन की गई भगवान शिव की पूजा विशेष फल देती है। इस दिन कावंड भी जल भोले शंकर को अर्पित करते हैं। इस दिन का महत्व और भी अब अधिक इसलिए हैं क्योंकि इस दिन सर्वाथ सिद्धि योग बन रहा है। इस दिन भगवान शिव का विविध द्रव्यों से जलाभिषेक करने से भक्तो की मनोकामना पूर्ण होती है । आज सर्वार्थ सिद्धि योग सुबह 6 बजकर 37 मिनट से आरंभ होकर अगले दिन सुर्योदय तक रहेगा। इस दौरान आद्रा नक्षत्र भी रहेगा। इसमें भगवान शिव का अभिषेक बहुत उत्तम माना गया है। इसलिए आज के दिन भोलेशंकर को आसानी से प्रसन्न किया जाता है। सावन के महीने को लेकर एक मान्यता भी है। कहा जाता है कि इसी महीने में देवी पार्वती की तपस्या से प्रसन्न होकर भगवान शिव ने उन्हें पत्नी बनाने का वरदान दिया था। देवी पार्वती को यह वचन भी दिया था कि जो भक्त सावन में उनकी भक्ति करेंगे उन्हें योग्य फल और पुण्य की प्राप्ति होगी। सावन मास की चतुर्दशी को मासिक शिवरात्रि है।
