It is with this rule of individual obligation that the Buddha offers the opportunity to his followers. This opportunity of thought is special throughout the entire existence of religion and is important in light of the fact that, as per the Buddha, man's liberation relies upon his own acknowledgment of Truth, and not on the big-hearted effortlessness of a God or any outer force as a compensation for his faithful conduct.
