New power station to receive $600m from government

The federal government is promising to build a new gas-fired power plant in New South Wales insisting it'll help avoid a power price hike for consumers. In an extraordinary intervention the government's spending $600 million on the plant to help offset the scheduled closure of the Liddell Power Station.
