Covid-19: India’s ‘double mutant’ strain detected in Malaysia, more cases of VOC detected nationwide

Malaysia has recorded its first case of the “double mutant” Covid-19 strain originating from India, says the Health Ministry.

The ministry on Sunday (May 2) also detected another 30 new cases Covid-19 variants of concern (VOC) in Malaysia - 27 of the South African variant (B.1.351) and three of the United Kingdom (UK) variant (B.117).
