Victoria's Yallourn station to close early in mid-2028

Energy Australian plans to close the Yallourn power station in Victoria's Latrobe valley in favour of building a giant power-generating battery instead. Grattan Institute's Energy Program Director Tony Wood says the decision was made to provide certainty to workers and the community.
