Thai deaf beauty contest becomes first pandemic-era pageant

Thailand’s deaf beauty contest became the first pageant during the coronavirus pandemic, with more than 40 contestants with impaired hearing participating in the preliminary competition on August 22, 2020. The contest will designate Miss Deaf, Mister Deaf and Miss Queen Deaf, while highlighting the challenges people with disabilities face.
