Hair salon on open sewer : Only in India!

A block of stone or cement, a make-shift chair, a shelf with barber's supplied and a simple mirror, and voila - a new hair-cutting salon is born! And that too, over an open sewer/drain in Dehra dun, Uttarakhand, India. This is a ready example of the ultimate in improvisation in India, while also showing the resilience and desperation of the average poor India! Nearby, fruit and vegetables are being sold... Meanwhile, just make sure you don't step to the side of the chair as you get off! And if you need to wash off the shaving foam, you know where to get your water from. And when the monsoon floods hit, the shop just might need to be shut down for a day, as the sewer will be over-flowing! Note the V I John in the open with a Tally ERP software solution advertisement behind... Yet you can't hate the hair-cutter in question! He works hard, is a typical 'jugadu' Indian, will pack and move when the situation changes, works out in the summer heat and monsoon rains and is ready for whatever life throws at him...
