The government on Saturday allowed the use of the low-cost steroid drug dexamethasone as an alternative to methylprednisolone to treat coronavirus patients with moderate and severe symptoms. The World Health Organization had called for a rapid increase in production of dexamethasone, after British clinical trials found it had life-saving potential for critically-ill coronavirus patients.
सरकार ने कोरोना के इलाज के लिए सस्ती स्टेरॉयड ड्रग डेक्सामेथासोन के इस्तेमाल की अनुमति दे दी है। ये दवा मिथाइल प्रेड्निसोलोन के विकल्प का काम करेगी. इसे मॉडरेट और गंभीर लक्षणों वाले मरीजों के इलाज में इस्तेमाल किया जाएगा। केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने कोरोना के मरीजों के इलाज के लिए एक संसोधित प्रोटोकॉल जारी किया है। यह कोरोना के मरीजों का इलाज कर रहे डॉक्टरों के लिए है। इस महीने मंत्रालय ने कोरोना के लक्षणों की सूची को संशोधित किया था। गंध और स्वाद महसूस नहीं होने को भी कोरोना के लक्षणों में शामिल किया गया था। ब्रिटेन में हुए क्लीनिकल ट्रायल में डेक्सामेथासोन को कोरोना की 'लाइफ़ सेविंग' दवा के रूप में पाया गया था, जिसके बाद विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन ने डेक्सामेथासोन के उत्पादन में तेजी लाने को कहा था.
