Where the mind is without fear | প্রার্থনা | by Rabindranath Tagore is one of the best poems of the anthology, #Gitanjali, The poem, poem 35, was composed in 1900 and appeared in the volume #Naibedya containing the Bengali title #প্রার্থনা (prayer). Rabindranath, himself, translated some of his best poems into English in 1911 after a request from William Rhothenstin. Poem 35 or Where the mind is without fear is one of them.
It is a prayer to God for the poets country and countrymen. He prays to God that India should be a heaven on earth.
