Mariano Rivera Shines at Baseball Hall of Fame Ceremony The career saves leader was fittingly
the final speaker at the Baseball
Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Rivera was the first player unanimously
voted into the HOF by the Baseball
Writers' Association of America. The 55,000 in attendance was the second-largest
for an induction ceremony. Mariano Rivera, via ESPN Rivera had 652 saves and won five World Series
titles with the New York Yankees. Mariano Rivera, via ESPN Closer Lee Smith, starters Mike Mussina
and Roy Halladay, and designated hitters Edgar Martinez
and Harold Baines were also inducted
Sunday in Cooperstown. Brandy Halladay spoke for her late husband,
