Portrait of the Artist as a Young Bunny (1980) is the seventh of ten WB animated short films originally released on television in the late 70s and early 80s. Unlike the majority of the other ten, which were later reissued with standard WB LT/MM opening and closing, including newly-drawn red rings bumpers, individual title cards, and credits, this title was reissued only on television as part of Saturday Morning programming, with only a most basic title card and the standard WB / Looney Tunes TV intro music. This title was originally broadcast as one of three animated shorts as part of Bugs Bunny's Bustin' Out All Over on CBS on May 21, 1980.
This video features a "recreation", coming as close as amateurishly possible to giving this cartoon the dignity of having its own unique opening and closing. I composed this "recreation" by stitching together elements from multiple sources, adding the same red rings bumpers featured on the other made-for-tv shorts of this era, the TV title card, and the original opening credits and music from Bugs Bunny's Bustin' Out All Over. The end product represents my attempt to create the best damned version of this cartoon short available on the internet.
1080p
Enjoy!
