PLEASE SET YOUR VIDEO TO 1080P/50 TO CORRECTLY SEE THE COMPARISON
Myself and the other members of the Blu-ray.com forums have identified a frame-rate/interlacing issue with the Blu-ray encode for Red Dwarf, affecting the following episodes:
- Series 3, all episodes - Series 5, episodes 4, 5, 6
The issue creates significant judder on fast moving elements in the show, as well as title cards (please see the included the title cards for Timeslides and Quarantine)
While we're happy with the quality of the Blu-ray set overall (there's only so much you can do with sources this old), this frame-rate issue seems unintended as it only affects 9 episodes on the box set and and was not present on the previous DVD releases. We hope replacement discs can be issued!
