U.S. Extends Deadline For Farmers To Apply For Aid

Reuters reports the U.S. Department of Agriculture on Tuesday extended the deadline for farmers to apply for aid payments. US farmers have been negatively impacted by trade wars, and those who have attempted to file for aid recently have been unable due to the partial government shutdown. The deadline for applications was originally set for Jan. 15, and will be delayed for the number of business days that USDA offices are closed.
