Seoul plans to spend 1-point-2 million U.S. dollars on forestry cooperation with Pyeongyang.
According to the nation's unification ministry, South Korea will be using this money to buy chemicals for controlling diseases and pests... and to carry them into the North.
Such a move is permissible under UN sanctions.
The spending will be covered by Seoul's inter-Korean cooperation fund.
Along with that, the nation will spend almost 980-thousand dollars... on jointly excavating cultural relics at an ancient palace site in North Korea's border town of Gaeseong.
Plus, Seoul will spend 830-thousand dollars to fix military communication lines along the West Sea... and 650-thousand dollars to buy equipment to be used in the joint search for the remains of the two sides' war dead in the demilitarized zone.
