Seoul is covering the cost of running the inter-Korean joint liaison office. The total cost of just over 3 million U.S. dollars is to come from South Korea's Inter-Korean Cooperation Fund. Renovations have been underway at the inter-Korean Kaesong Industrial Complex since early July... with the aim of opening the joint liaison office within this month. The office should enable person-to-person contact between officials from Seoul and Pyongyang.
