The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) and the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD) held their first Annual ALDE CALD meeting in 2002, with the aim to strengthen cooperation with Asian Liberal Democrats, much needed in a society which needs a globalised answer.
This year the 2008 Annual ALDE CALD meting will take place in the European Parliament in Brussels on the 16 April and for the first time will be joined by a delegation of Liberals and Democrats from the African Caribbean and Pacific (ALDEPAC).
