Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is a personality disorder in which there is a long-term pattern of abnormal behavior characterized by exaggerated feelings of self-importance, an excessive need for admiration, and lack of understanding of others' feelings. People affected by NPD often exploit the people around them. The behavior typically begins by early adulthood, and occurs across a variety of situations. More men than women are diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), but in many peoples opinions, that is because women can hide the disorder better. Mothers and wives who suffer from NPD can do tremendous psychological damage to their children and husbands. Female narcissists are extremely good at twisting the truth and appearing the victim. Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is often associated with bipolar disorder. In both cases, it can appear as if you are dealing with two different personalities. With the narcissist, the person can be extremely charming and personable then they will switch and start transferring blame onto their victims. Someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder doesn't care if he or she is benefitting anyone. Cold, calculating, and manipulative, they do not think about others at all unless they can benefit them. Within the narcissist, there are two egos, the real ego, and the alter-ego the narcissist uses to hide their real ego. The most effective liars are ones who believe their own lies. The female narcissist relies on gas-lighting their victims, as in making their victims doubt their own sense of reality. She benefits from playing the victim, in the process she scapegoats other people. Traits of a Narcissistic Sociopath: •A driven quest for power. If a narcissistic sociopath cares about anything other than himself, it is destructive power and control over people. •Behaviors that seek love and admiration. To be sure, this isn't needy love. It's not even emotional love. It's superficial. A narcissistic sociopath sees love and admiration as power tools to manipulate and dominate. •No apologies, no guilt, no remorse under any circumstance. A sociopathic narcissist believes that she is a gift to the world who makes it richer and more colorful. Therefore, her calculated, even cruel actions are always justified. •Invincibility. The narcissistic variety of sociopath believes he is indomitable. •Wholly self-serving. The needs and wants of others are insignificant and undeserving of consideration. •Act as the producer, director, and only actor of his own show. The narcissistic sociopath casts people in roles that increase his power and sense of importance and when bored, casts them aside.
