Railfanning the Skagit Valley on a Rainy Day

Saturday, February 18, 2017 was a typical rainy winter day in Northwest Washington, as it was my only day off for the week I still decided to head out and caught:

- A fast unit coal train at Cook Road in Burlington
- A loaded unit oil train on the Anacortes Spur at Avon Allen Road
- An empty oil train at Hickox Road in South Mount Vernon
- Operation of the unusual crossing mechanism at Hickox Road. This is only the second time I have seen this operate, and the first time I was able to record it.
