US officials have reportedly revealed that the White House is considering bringing in an outsider to review the nation’s intelligence agencies.

The New York Times reports  U.S. officials have revealed that the White House is considering bringing in an outsider to review the nation’s intelligence agencies.
That individual is Stephen Feinberg, a billionaire businessman and long-time friend of President Trump.
According to the media outlet, Feinberg’s national security experience is limited to, “his firm’s stakes in a private security company and two gun makers.”
As CNN notes, “There are still many issues to work out, especially because the Director of National Intelligence -- by statute -- has oversight over the agencies and is the President's prime contact on all intelligence issues.”
The potential move comes amid Trump’s increasing criticism of news outlets and the inside sources who allegedly share information with them, two parties he blames for the resignation of Michael Flynn.
On Thursday morning the president took to Twitter to further express his dismay, writing, “Leaking, and even illegal classified leaking, has been a big problem in Washington for years. Failing @nytimes (and others) must apologize!...The spotlight has finally been put on the low-life leakers! They will be caught!”
