Police used tear gas to break up a protest on Place de la Republique in Paris on Saturday, April 23, after demonstrators reportedly set fire to a police car. Protesters rallying under the banner #NuitDebout (up all night) have been staging nightly protests on the square in opposition to austerity and globalization.
