Title: Poullart Death & His Legacy - St-Étienne-du-Mont Church -
Duration: 04:14
---------------------------------------------------------------------
This short video shows the place (at the head of St-Étienne-du-Mont church) where the Founder of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit was buried in a mass grave.
Poullart des Places died of pleurisy during the "The Great Winter" of 1709, on Oct. 2, aged 29 y. old.
Although he was the son of one of the wealthiest business men in France, Claude shared his wealth with the needy and the Community of poor seminarians he decided to finally join. He dedicated it to the Holy Spirit, hence becoming the founder of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, the youngest of all founders in the Catholic church.
Poullart's legacy: Today (2016) his Congregation has 2.700 professed members and many Associates, distributed in 65 countries. This is evoked at the end of the video by a series of photographs showing Spiritans in various countries.
