The Original Memphis 5, founded in 1917 by Phil Napolean and Frank Signorelli, are again accompanied by Annette Hanshaw who sings Ruth Etting's Wistful & Blue. The "5" personnel are again Frank Signorelli, piano; Red Nichols, trumpet; Ray Baudec, drums; George Bohn, clarinet; and Miff Mole, trombone. Annette was in such great demand as a gal singer for bands recording at Pathe in the late 1920s that she became the de facto house vocalist. This arrangement is anything but wistful and blue.
