Venezuela: Socialist Party to Investigate Vote Buying

Venezuela’s ruling socialist party (PSUV) has called for an investigation of vote buying by opposition candidates in the Amazonas state. According to the government, votes from deceased citizens were cast in the recent legislative election. Furthermore, there is allegedly a video of Amazonas Interior Minister Victoria Franchi speaking to an unidentified man about payments for votes. The opposition has denied the allegations, but Jorge Rodriguez of he PSUV called on the country’s Attorney General to take action on the violation of electoral laws. teleSUR
