Hundreds of Venezuelan phone workers from the state-owned CANTV demonstrated in Caracas against plans by the incoming opposition majority in parliament to privatize the company. They were greeted by President Nicolas Maduro who described opposition plans to reverse key nationalizations and social gains as an "electoral coup". Maduro said he would not allow the right-wing to consolidate its plans. teleSUR
