Colombia: Social Movements Hail Agreement on Disappeared

Colombian social movements and political leaders praised the agreement reached this past Saturday between government and rebel peace negotiators in Havana. The agreement establishes a specialized unit to search, locate, identify, and turn over the remains of the estimated 52,000 to 100,000 forcibly disappeared, a task that could take many years. President Juan Manuel Santos said the agreement addresses a key issue that would have to be resolved before a final agreement to end the conflict is reached. teleSUR
